Rosanne C. Saunders is an independent human resources consultant. Her practice focuses on human resources audits/strategy, communications, workplace investigations and interim services. She also partners with other high-quality consulting firms when specialized expertise is required to meet client needs.

Clients served include healthcare and nonprofit organizations, foundations, educational and financial institutions, manufacturers and professional associations.

She was most recently Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before it was acquired by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in March 2013. At Jefferson Regional, she had administrative responsibility for human resources, labor relations, marketing/communications and community outreach.

She was previously Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Sewickley Valley Hospital and Heritage Valley Health System, where she led human resources merger integration.

For nearly 20 years, she was an adjunct faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College, creating the “Legal Issues in Human Resources Management” course and teaching Human Resources Management at the graduate level. Carnegie Mellon University selected her to develop and present executive education seminars at the Heinz College and for the summer international student program at the Tepper School of Business.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Communications from Point Park University and Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law. She holds SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) and SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional) designations, and is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania.

A member of the Society for Human Resources Management, Pittsburgh Human Resources Association and American Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administration, she has twice been a featured speaker at ASHHRA’s national conference. She is a frequent speaker to local and national groups and educational institutions on human resource issues, including human resources documentation, employee selection and performance management. She has also served as an expert witness on healthcare human resource practices.
